My friend and I want to start an online business do we need to have a business license?

We live in Ontario, Canada, we would like to start a beauty cosmetic business online, we are wondering if we need to register with the government to get a business license.
Is there laws regarding if we have to register or not if the business doesn’t make over a certain amount

  yes you do because its considered a business even though its online.

  It is too bad you are not in the US. You could then seek out the local Acorn office and they would tell you how to circumvent any legal requirements for small business.
